Rebecca Collier
Rebecca Collieris a 17 year old Red River Métis and is of mixed Plains Cree ancestry from Swan Lake Manitoba, with citizenship to MNBC. She is also mixed Ashkenazi Jewish and Polish. She has sold at markets since she was 14 and has explored a range of different mediums being, crocheting, knitting, soap making, beading, weaving and sewing.
Rebecca is an Indigenous artisan whose work blends traditional designs with flashy and modern expression. Especially drawing inspiration from the Coast Salish territory she lives in, Rebecca has incorporated a blend of prairie tradition and the land she lives on into her art.
Her work has been featured in a newspaper article, local gallery and has also won a coveted competition with her art. She also has ran different beading workshops in her high school district. She can be found at local markets and through her instagram Oskāyak Designs.
